wow where does time go?

I can't believe the last time I posted was in late August. Life has been HECTIC to say the least. We have settled into a routine somewhat for our studies and are busy with the new ice hockey season. We went away for a tournament in Anaheim Calif. Labor Day weekend and they are heading out tomorrow for a tournament in Phoenix this weekend. These are the times I am SOOO glad we homeschool. I can rearrange our schedule however I want. I can't imagine what the teachers of these boys are thinking about them being pulled out of school for 2 days already when they have only been in for 3 weeks now. Steve is taking Josh this weekend because I didn't want Lauren to miss again. We did allow her to take off a day so she could come to the Anaheim tournament. This and the championship games in Salt Lake City are the only times that we travel as a family. It's too expensive for all of us to go all the time and Lauren would miss too much school. NOT a good thing as a freshman in high school.

I will have some free time with Josh being gone so I'll try and post some things about what we have been studying, books we've been reading and things we have been accomplishing. (or at least trying to LOL)

hi Barb!
It definitely sounds like you've been busy! Are you enjoying your weekend "off"?

The flexibility in homeschooling must be very freeing. I look forward to that. :) I got some flash cards for Rhiannon, and we've been looking at those to learn colors and numbers so far. I also picked up some foam letters for the tub, and we sing the alphabet song and look at those during bathtime. She knows the letter "T" now. LOL

Give me a call sometime!

Hey Jodi,

WOW I had a comment!!! I am soo excited! LOL This is the first. I didn't think anyone really read these posts.

I was just talking with Kate about you the other day. Don't worry only GOOD things!

I spent my "free" weekend getting things together for next week. I love doing this though so it doesn't feel like a chore to me.

Homeschooling has made life and especially hockey so much easier - no worries about missed days, making up work, homework etc. We just work around the days he needs off.

Sounds like you and Rhiannon are having fun and enjoying yourselves. (She is SOOO smart!) Never losing the passion for learning is one of the things I have felt is so important. Last year I think we lost some of that "enjoyment", things became too "school-like", so I have changed around how we do things this year. Josh and I are both finding it much better.

I still need to post on how we are doing things differently. I had wanted to do that this weekend but never got around to it. Hopefully soon.

Thanks so much for "commenting". I would love to get together with you soon.
