Happy "Word Nerd Day"
In honor of Word Nerd Day, also known as National Word Day, today we are starting a "Word of the Day" plan for our own nerdy family. :) Very timely for us as even my daughter who is a sophomore in a local high school will benefit. She has started her own "Five New Words Each Day" program with a friend as they practice vocabulary studies in preparation for the SAT test they will be taking within the next few months.
Thanks to Dictionary.com here's our word for the day:
ineffable \in-EF-uh-buhl\, adjective:1. Incapable of being expressed in words; unspeakable; unutterable; indescribable.2. Not to be uttered; taboo.
Dictionary.com was a great find this morning, as besides giving the definition of a new word each day (you can go online or have it emailed to you), they also give you the history of the word and give you quotes from books, magazines etc where it has been used in a sentence.

Great idea! I think we'll give it a try as well. I like the idea of the email, so I am signing up for it. Your daughter is very ambitious at 5 new words a day! Good luck to her!

Great to see you again :) We've missed you. Have been checking your blog faithfully. Josh was just saying today he wants to write Superboy and tell him all about his Christmas and such lol
We are having fun with "a word a day". One a day is plenty for us. The whole family is getting in on it lol Today our word was dubiety!

Superboy was also saying today how he wanted to write to Josh and send him a picture that he took of a bird--birds always remind him of Josh! He was also excited to hear that Josh is on his second-to-last Narnia book, as that is exactly where he is now! He is reading them in a different order, though. I laughed because those pictures you posted of Josh buried in his book could just as easily have been Superboy! Too funny the coincidences some times.
Everytime Josh sees something about dragons we think of Superboy!
Josh is just finishing up his last book The Magician's Nephew as I type. He was excited to see Superboy is "into" them too lol
He'll be "writing" his letter to Superboy tomorrow. He has a bunch to share with him :)
